Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) President Ekrem İmamoğluattended the official ceremony held at the Taksim Republic Monument as part of the 19 May Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day celebrations. Istanbul Youth and Sports Provincial Director Cemil Bağlama, CHP Istanbul Provincial President Canan Kaftancıoğlu and IYI Party Provincial President Buğra Kavuncu were also present at the ceremony; After a moment of silence for Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, his comrades in arms and all martyrs, the National Anthem was sung. After the Provincial Director of Youth and Sports Baglama laid a wreath on the monument, the official ceremony ended. After the end of the official ceremony, İmamoğlu left the İBB wreath, which was brought with the police squad, to the Republic Monument. After İmamoğlu, CHP Istanbul Provincial Chairman Kaftancıoğlu and IYI Party Istanbul Provincial President Kavuncu also laid wreaths at the monument. Social distancing rules were followed throughout the ceremony.
