President Soyer presented the center to young people, which will meet the needs of young people in many fields from science to art.
Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Tunç Soyer, on the 19st anniversary of the Great Leader Atatürk's departure to Samsun, which is celebrated as the 101 May Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day, opened the “Youth Campus” in the same garden as the Historical Coal Gas Factory Cultural Center. Minister Tunç Soyer He gave the center to the youth. The center, named Historical Coal Gas Factory Youth Campus, will only serve young people and will meet the needs of young people in many fields from science to art.
“Hometown Will Be Enlightened From Here Again”
Reminding that the electricity produced at the Izmir Air Gas Factory was formerly illuminating İzmir, President Soyer said in his speech, “From now on, it will be a living space for young people who enlighten this country. Again, the country will be enlightened from here. For this reason, we are very excited when we present such a place to our young people. And of course, our expectations from them are very high. Good luck to all our youngsters. ”
Saying that the Fabrication Laboratory (FabLab) in the Occupational Factory, which turns the imagined products into concrete products by designing them in a very simple way, will also be moved to the Youth Campus, “There is a library, there is a study center. There are also areas where they will perform their culture and arts performances. In other words, it is a wide living space. ”

What's in the Youth Campus?
The Youth Campus has a library where students can study and research, planning, implementation and meeting areas for volunteer activities and social projects, showrooms for cultural activities, and an innovation laboratory where ideas can be realized. While young people use their creativity and sign new ideas and innovations in the workshops here, they can also participate in different volunteer works and contribute to the Izmir solidarity networks.
