Minister of National Defense Hulusi Akar announced that summons and demobilization will begin on 31 May.

According to the statement made by the Ministry, a weekly video conference meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Minister of National Defense Akar, with the participation of General Staff Commander Gen. Yaşar Güler, Commander of the Land Forces Gen. Umit Dündar, Commander of the Air Force Commander Gen. Hasan Küçükakyüz and Admiral Adnan Özbal, Commander of the Naval Forces and Admiral Adnan Özbal.

Akar, said in a statement here, the scope of all the recent rapid normalization of the ongoing studies in Turkey in the Turkish Armed Forces determination, assignment, appointment, stating that started in the demobilization and summons, he said:

”The demobilities were extended for a month. Our people, noble nation, and precious families of our Mehmetçi supported us in this regard, and everyone understood that this would be beneficial for our country and our people. We have reached the point where the measures taken are sufficient and that demobilization and summons can begin. Hopefully we will start the discharges from Sunday, May 31st. Important measures have been taken regarding this. Our young people who will be discharged have been taken into custody as of 18 May. We are also in an intense coordination with the Ministry of Health. There have been no cases among our young people who will be discharged. Hopefully, from 31 May, we will be able to pass our young people from their troops in a healthy way and ensure their discharge. On the other hand, we have taken all kinds of measures to ensure that our young people can join their troops in a healthy way. As part of the measures taken by our provincial and district health directorates and garrison commands, PCR tests will be carried out for our youngsters who will come to the military three or four days in advance. ”
