COVİD-19 most impacted SMEs

Webinar also announced the results of the survey study on the impact of the epidemic process on SMEs through the Center of Excellence within the scope of the Robust SME project. According to the results of the survey, 50% of SMEs operating in the manufacturing sector either had to close their businesses completely or stopped their operations. 57 percent of SMEs operating in the food and beverage sector stopped their activities due to the measures taken within the scope of combating the epidemic. 75% of SMEs operating in the same sector completely stopped their activities, while 25% continue their activities through takeaway. Given the dominant share of enterprises operating in the manufacturing and food and beverage sectors within the overall SME population, 43,5 percent of SMEs were negatively affected by the changing economic environment due to the epidemic.

Again, according to the survey results, another subject that comes to the fore is the low level of knowledge and accumulation of SMEs in digitalization, cash flow management, financial risk analysis and resource management.
