Minister Karaismailoğlu stated in his statement that some arrangements were made in road transport in order to relieve both companies and citizens in the context of outbreak measures.
Stating that the arrangements for the transportation of passengers in buses have also been implemented within this framework, Karaismailoğlu said, “Our Ministry has confiscated the situation when some companies carried passengers at very high fees due to the restriction of travel and the reduction of the number of passengers to be transported on buses. We brought ceiling price application to buses. Thus, we both secured the rights of our citizens and prevented companies from being crushed under increasing costs. ” he spoke.
Karaismailoğlu said that the bus ticket prices were guaranteed by the state with the regulations made by the General Directorate of Transportation Services Regulation on the Road Transport Regulation, thus preventing the sale of tickets to citizens at exorbitant prices.
“Prices will be valid until July 31st”
Karaismailoğlu pointed out that the measures taken against the epidemic increased the costs of the companies operating in road transportation, and stated that many companies were unable to operate.
Therefore, Karaismailoğlu, who stated that the citizens are not able to find bus tickets, said that with the Communiqué on the Base / Ceiling Fee Tariff to be Applied in the Field of Passenger Transport, the additional costs of the companies carrying out domestic passenger transportation are also taken into consideration.
Explaining that the regulation is planned in a way that enables firms to overcome the increasing costs as well as protecting the citizens, Karaismailoğlu said:
“Thus, our citizens will now be able to find bus services and companies will be able to overcome the increasing costs. Ankara-Istanbul bus ticket prices, with the highest density of passengers, will not exceed 160 liras with the mentioned arrangement made according to the mileage calculation. Floor and ceiling prices determined by the communiqué will be valid until July 31. Then, with the normalization process, prices will be restored. ”

Referring to the amendment published in the Official Gazette today regarding administrative fines imposed on citizens who pass through the bridges and highways without paying their fees, Karaismailoğlu said, The regulation was amended. Minister Karaismailoğlu added that with the amendment, those who pass through the highways without paying their fees increase the penalty-free payment period to 15 days, which is determined as a week after the transition.
