Young Managers and Businessmen Association (GYİAD) announced the results of the survey conducted with the participation of its members and that put the psychological-social effects of the epidemic on the table. Another prominent result in the survey results, which showed that the majority of the respondents (46,2%) thought that daily life would return to normal within 6-12 months, was that 69,2% of the participants started working remotely within the scope of the measures taken.

The effects of the coronavirus epidemic, which affect the whole world, continue to decrease, albeit slowly. In addition to the economic effects of the epidemic, the psychological-social effects arising from quarantine are also being discussed more than recently. According to the survey results that reveal the perceptions and approaches of GYİAD members; 46,2% of the participants think that they will return to normal in “6-12 months”.

While 69,2% of the surveyed members started working remotely within the scope of the measures taken, 35,9% of the participants think that working remotely is more tiring and 25,6% think that this system is more stressful.

Economic Measures Taken Insufficient

Another important data revealed by the survey is related to the measures taken. 51,3% of the participants agree that the economic measures taken due to the outbreak are insufficient. The survey results reveal that although the effect of the outbreak is reduced, the majority of the participants (66,7%) are still worried about the coronavirus. The results also highlight that the epidemic has had an impact on all areas of life. 61,5% of the participants were outbreak; thinks it affects society in terms of economy, health, psychology and social.

Most Curfews Restrictions

The most important psychological effect of the outbreak stands out as curfews. 51,3% of the respondents think that they have the most difficulties to stay at home during the epidemic, and 33,3% think that it is difficult for them to stay away from their family elders in this process. In the process of staying at home, sports activities (56,4%), reading books (51,3%) and movie-series watching (46,2%) activities come to the fore. In this process, the rate of those working on their jobs is 41%. Participants agree that the sales of food products will increase the most (64,1%) in online purchases as the coronavirus epidemic prolongs.

Evaluating the survey results as follows, GYİAD Chairman of the Board Fuat Pamukçu: “When we look at the responses of our members to the survey, we see that the majority of the participants think that the measures taken should be expanded in terms of 'economy'. The psychological and social effects of the outbreak will continue to decrease over time. We anticipate that the 'return to normal' period will also be shortened if the measures taken are followed. ”

Fuat Pamukçu said, “As we always say, our country should continue to focus on structural reforms in order to gain an advantage after this crisis. The young population should be brought into the economy, with a particular focus on employment. As GYİAD, we continue to do our part in this regard. Our trust in our country is complete and we think that we will get through this process as soon as possible. ”
