In order to keep Izmit Bay clean, the Metropolitan Municipality conducts sea pollution inspections arising from ships and vessels by sea control aircraft. Within the scope of the ongoing works since 2007, the sea control aircraft became the nightmare of the ships polluting the Gulf of Izmit.

4 SHIPS 3 MILLION 751 THOUSAND TL PENAL

Environmental Protection and Control Department teams have carried out 2020 inspections so far in 77. In these inspections, 4 ships found to have contaminated the Gulf of Izmit were fined 3 million 751 thousand TL. 4 vessels polluting the sea were detected during the control of the seaplane and other inspections.
