It's like yesterday… On 12 December 2012, when we gathered with great excitement at the construction site, which was set up at the entrance to Balat from Mudanya Road at the exit of the Gate, on a cold winter day, we felt warm.

That day…

While the foundation was laid for the high-speed train to come to Bursa, it was announced that “Bursa residents will be able to travel by high-speed train in 2016”. We were all excited.

It has been 8 years since the groundbreaking and 4 years since the target. We have half tunnels and viaducts. In some departments, the work was not even started at all.

That's why we haven't seen the train tracks yet.

In the past process…

There were problems arising from the land, economic crises erupted. All accepted, but we did not get tired of waiting for the promised high-speed train to Bursa.

We attributed the resulting disruptions to the inexperience of TCDD, which has been working in the fields of tolcu transportation and railway management, for the first time directly undertaking the project implementation, and looked tolerant.

Because…

Despite the demoralizing delay, there were always promising developments.

So much so…

We did not even bother with the fact that TCDD removed our project from the high-speed train category and took it to the status of a high-standard railway line.

Even…

We accepted this as a technical detail in the search for international credit, as the freight train will also run, and we accepted it with the explanations that its speed will not change.

Last…

On March 15, 2020, in these columns, “Don't get demoralized, but our train

now we have announced the development with the title of 'stuck on external credit limits'.

Here…

After the Treasury did not give that approval, there was another important development concerning our train and the boss of the business changed. The project was purchased from TCDD and transferred to the Ministry of Transport, General Directorate of Infrastructure Investments.

Surprise development…

We talked to friends who were involved in the business in Ankara. The hope of the friends who interpreted the transfer of the project by TCDD to AYGM as "a technical decision that will accelerate the process and increase the contact for new foreign credit searches" is as follows:

“It may be that time is looking for an external loan, but once you find it, the project goes very quickly. AYGM provides this coordination. ”

This is the final situation.

Realization Rate of the Project is Low

From time to time… We read that the realization rate of the train project on the Bursa-Yenişehir line has reached 70 percent.

The next table reveals different information:

Bursa Station, which is at the groundbreaking point, has no projects yet. Infrastructure construction was completed by 60 percent until Kazıklı on the Ring Road, which is the first target range after the exit point.

50 percent of the section up to the Seymen Tunnel after it was built. They also have a superstructure.

Yenişehir Plain has not been entered yet.

TCDD Surprise: Puts East Station on High Speed Train Project

At the beginning of the project… East Station was located on the Gürsu border of the Ring Road for those living in the east of the city to reach the train. This station was on the agenda at the insistence of Orhan Özcü, who was the Mayor of Gürsu at the time.

But…

Since the planned place for the station is greenhouses and agricultural lands, and the road to be built from Gürsu passes through agricultural lands, it was abandoned upon objections from the city, and a "reserve area to build a station in the future" was determined near the connection road junction from Samanlı.

At the point Gelin

Especially when the freight train gained weight, both the transportation of the products of Demirtaş Organized Industrial Zone, which is the second largest OIZ of Bursa, and the East Station came into the agenda again for those living in the east of the city.

To our ear ...

It has come to pass that the East Station, which TCDD added to the project and transferred to the General Directorate of Infrastructure Investments, will be between Kazıklı and İğdir.

Tunnel-Bend Criterion for Station Location

According to friends in Ankara, “The East Station location is regionally included in the project, which was added by TCDD and transferred to the General Directorate of Infrastructure Investments so that the population in the east of the city can reach the train in a short time instead of going to Geçit.

So…

The distance between Kazıklı and İğdır is marked.

Because…

Tunnels and intersections are decisive criteria for station locations, due to the speed of the train and the braking distances of the freight train. The station location will now be determined accordingly. (Ahmet Emin Yılmaz – Event Bursa)
