Family, Labor and Social Services Minister Zehra Zümrüt Selçuk met with TOBB President Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, TOBB members and bureaucrats in the “Short Work Allowance Information Webinar” program organized by video conference method.

Stating that steps were taken to facilitate the services of SGK and İŞKUR in the new coronavirus process, Minister Selçuk reminded that the package corresponds to 100 billion lira resource, under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Minister Selçuk stated that within the scope of the Short-Term Work Allowance, more than 270 million workers were made from nearly 3 thousand companies, “Our reaching 3 million applications shows that our employers keep our 3 million workers in employment contracts.” said.

Stating the statistics regarding the number of workers and sectors of the workplaces where applications come from, Selçuk stated that the measures to be taken according to these data will be discussed. Emphasizing that there are no restrictions on the number of sectors or workers in benefiting from the allowance, Selçuk stated that all businesses can apply.

Stating that the application has been made for the appropriation in the last period as never before in the past 15 years, Selçuk stated that they received an average of one hundred thousand requests per day.

Stating that facilitative measures were taken to make payments in this process, Selçuk stated that with the last legal arrangement, they left the process related to the determinations after the payment, thereby accelerating the payments. Selçuk stated that they have completed the deserved payments for March.

Reminding that a regulation was made to restrict the termination of business contracts in order to protect workers and employment, Selçuk said that when the wheels start to return, they will adapt the production more easily without losing any workers.
