Expressing that his priorities are human health, Pekcan also emphasized that the healthy and regular functioning of the free market is important. For this purpose, Pekcan stated that they are also struggling with market-distorting activities as the Ministry, and the important arrangements were made with the Law No. 7244 on the Amendment of the Law on the Reduction of the Effects of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) Outbreak on Economic and Social Life and Some Laws. drew attention to what they had.

Pekcan stated the following regarding the steps they will take with the law in the new period: “We will continue with our unfair Price Evaluation Board in the new period, by expanding the scope more effectively and in the new period, in order to protect our citizens against exorbitant price increases. We will not give passages to opportunists, especially those who arise during such sensitive periods. Producers, suppliers and retail businesses will no longer be able to make exorbitant price increases without a justified reason such as an increase in input costs. In addition, it will not be able to engage in activities that disrupt free trade and market balance or prevent consumers from accessing goods. The Unfair Price Evaluation Board will examine exorbitant price increases and stocking practices and apply administrative fines when necessary. The board will be able to impose an administrative fine of up to 500 thousand liras. ”

“With another important regulation, the way to allocate medical devices and materials, disinfectants, masks, gloves and similar products confiscated with illegal possibilities to public institutions without waiting for the judicial processes. Especially the ethyl alcohol seized within the scope of the fight against smuggling is directly destroyed in accordance with the relevant legislation, and with the new law, it will be allocated free of charge to our public institutions that can produce disinfectants using this product, primarily our Ministry of Health. In this arrangement, medical devices and materials directly related to the fight against infectious epidemics will likewise be quickly allocated to relevant public institutions free of charge. ”

Credit Debt of Agricultural Sales Cooperatives Unions Postponed

Noting that other arrangements of agricultural sales cooperatives unions, credit and debt payments due to the Support and Price Stabilization Fund (DFIF) were postponed to 2020 without interest, Pekcan said that the installment amounts to be paid in the following years, including 2021, were also postponed for one year without interest. he said.

In this context, Pekcan emphasized that it is aimed to prevent the agricultural sales cooperatives' unions, which play a very important role in the sustainability of production, from falling into economic distress due to the Kovid-19 outbreak.

“We postpone the general assembly meetings of cooperatives that are subject to the Cooperatives Law until 31 July 2020. Deferred general assembly meetings can be held within 3 months from the date following the postponement date.

On the other hand, in accordance with the Chambers and Commodity Exchanges Law of TOBB, the TO365 General Assembly, which meets every year in May with the participation of 2020 chambers and stock exchange representatives, will be held together with the 2021 General Assembly.
