Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality took a series of measures to reduce the risk of coronavirus for the staff working at metro sites. Dormitory, dining hall and social areas in all construction sites will be regularly disinfected. Nobody will be taken to the construction sites from outside. The staff will be able to do the job after going through the health screening.

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality added a new one to the measures it has taken regarding the coronavirus outbreak. The IMM Rail System Department has taken measures to reduce the risk of staff on duty on subway construction sites from contracting Coronavirus (Covid-19).

According to the directive sent to the contractor companies, hygiene and disinfectant materials will be stocked and kept in sufficient quantity at all construction sites. Dormitory, dining hall, tea stoves and service vehicles used by the personnel will be periodically disinfected twice a day. In dormitories, the distance between the beds will be at least 3 meters, and a floor of the bunk beds will not be used.

Materials such as thermometers, gloves and masks will always be available at the construction site. Routine personnel will be measured twice a day. The high-fever personnel will be kept in an isolated environment until the medics arrive.

THERE ARE NO PARTICIPATION OUTSIDE THE MEETINGS

In addition, all staff responsible for eating, drinking, cleaning and transportation will be able to go to work after a health screening every morning. However, food and beverages served to the staff at the construction sites will be available as packaged.

In line with the cautionary decisions taken, no meetings will be held at the construction sites unless it is mandatory. In cases where the meeting is necessary, social distance rules will be followed. No external participants will be accepted to the meetings.

In addition, teams affiliated with IMM will inform the staff working on the construction sites about the symptoms and effects of coronavirus. Necessary measures will be taken at that moment without wasting time on personnel who feel these symptoms.

The Occupational Health and Safety Chief, affiliated with the IMM Rail System Department, will regularly inspect the subway sites to determine whether the measures have been implemented.
