Due to the curfew initiated by the Ministry of Interior in 30 metropolitan cities and Zonguldak at the weekend, approximately 5 thousand bread were distributed by the District Governorship and the Municipality of Döşemealtı in order to prevent citizens from suffering. Döşemealtı Municipality responded to 13 calls from all 32 neighborhoods with 3 separate teams it established.

After the two-day curfew decision in 30 metropolitan cities and Zonguldak with the circular of the Ministry of Interior, Döşemealtı Mayor Turgay Genç gave instructions to meet the needs of the citizens within 48 hours. The teams distributed bread to those who did not go out on the streets, primarily patients, citizens aged 65 and over.

On the first day of the ban, 5 separate teams, including the teams affiliated with the Directorate of Police Department of Döşemealtı Municipality, distributed over 2 thousand free breads to the people in need and bread demanders throughout the district. On Sunday, 8 separate teams distributed 2500 free breads in different districts of the district. Approximately 2 thousand breads were distributed to citizens' homes free of charge in 5 days. Citizens benefiting from the bread distribution thanked Genç for the bread distributed free of charge after the curfew.

ACTIVE MISSION IN VEFA SOCIAL SUPPORT GROUP

Within the scope of corona virus measures, Vefa Social Support groups were formed under the coordination of governorships and district governors. Döşemealtı Municipality supports 4 vehicles and 8 personnel to Vefa Social Support Groups within the body of Döşemealtı District Governorate, which consists of public employees such as police, Gendarmerie, AFAD and municipal personnel.

Stating that they have taken the necessary precautions after the curfew decision, Döşemealtı Mayor Turgay Genç said, “We mobilized all our facilities to meet all the needs of our citizens, especially bread. We did not leave our citizens alone in this process. ”
