Atatürk Airport was taken from the State Airports Authority and transferred to the inventory of the General Directorate of National Real Estate under the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization. While the construction of the virus epidemic hospital in Korana, which was built on 17 right and 35 left runways at Atatürk Airport, the teams approached to the end in construction.
Ataturk Airport, which belongs to the Ministry of Transport under the ownership of the State Airports Authority (DHMİ), has now decided to transfer the area in question due to the loss of its aviation feature. While the authorized ministry for the Atatürk Airport was the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, the responsible department was designated as the General Directorate of National Real Estate.
With the elimination of the condition of allocation and the reversal of the transfer made by the General Directorate of National Real Estate, the area will be re-included in the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization. It is also on the agenda that some runways are subject to a special trail and are left open for certain flights.
