Stones filled into trucks on excavation vessels are discharged into the sea at a depth of 28 meters in the open. The interior area of ​​the mender will be approximately 2 million square meters and a total of 2 million 400 thousand square meters of sea fill will be made. In the project, 65 percent of which has been completed, it is planned to start foundation, sub-foundation and pavement manufacturing in the runway, apron and taxiway areas, where dredging and filling production continues. The infrastructure works of Rize-Artvin Airport, which is expected to be used by 2020 million passengers per year, will cost 3 billion 1 million liras.

Rize Artvin Airport construction, which is planned to be completed by the end of this year, continues as uninterruptedly as possible despite the epidemic. However, the airport, which is planned to be finished on October 29, is expected to start operating in the middle of next year due to the coronavirus epidemic.
