Turkey Rail System Utilities Industry with the decision of the President Inc. (TÜRASAŞ) was established. Decisions by the subsidiaries of TCDD Turkey Wagon Industry Inc. (TÜVASAŞ), Turkey Locomotive and Engine Industry Inc. (TÜLOMSAŞ) and Turkey Railway Machines Industry Inc. (TÜDEMSAŞ) was created by combining TÜRASAŞ.
CumhuriyetAccording to the news of Mustafa Çakır from; “The headquarters of TÜRASAŞ, which is connected to the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, will be in Ankara. The purpose, field of activity and duties, organs and capital of TÜRASAŞ will be determined in the main status. With the registration of TÜRASAŞ in the trade registry, the legal entities of TÜVASAŞ, TÜLOMSAŞ and TÜDEMSAŞ will cease. All rights and obligations, immovables and personnel of these companies will be transferred to TÜRASAŞ. The duties of those who are in the general manager positions of 3 companies will also be terminated. Necessary procedures for the establishment of TÜRASAŞ will be completed within 3 months.
The dates of the three companies that were decided to be closed were very old. The first facilities of TÜVASAŞ were put into operation on October 3, 25 under the name of “Wagon Repair Workshop” in order to end the foreign dependence in imported maintenance and repair on railways. The foundation of TÜLOMSAŞ was laid in 1951 by the Germans with the establishment of a small workshop called the Anatolian-Ottoman Company in Eskişehir to meet the steam locomotive and wagon repair needs related to the Anatolian-Baghdad railway. TÜDEMSAŞ, on the other hand, was established in 1894 under the name of Sivas Cer Atolyesi to repair steam locomotives and freight wagons.

Hasan Bektaş, President of the United Transportation Employees Union, drew attention to the fact that these enterprises have been producing for TCDD for years.
