Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality, Corona Virus (Covidien-19), in addition to a circular issued by the Ministry of Interior for public transport, taking action against the epidemic made a first in Turkey. Metropolitan launched an exemplary practice after it was stated in the circular issued by the Ministry of Internal Affairs within the scope of the measures taken against the epidemic that “the way of sitting in the vehicle in public transport should be in a way that prevents the contact of the passengers”. “Social Distance Lanes” started to be drawn for all public transportation vehicles, especially the tramway and the buses it contains. The work done to protect social distance, which is an important measure to prevent the corona infection, will provide a protective transportation in public transportation. In the coming days, the lane works for blue and yellow private public buses will be completed.
Metropolitan Municipality teams placed hand disinfectants at every tram stop as well as their daily disinfectant work. Passengers will be able to provide hand hygiene with disinfectants at the stops while getting on and off the tram. In addition, the metropolitan disinfection team continues the disinfectant works for all public transportation vehicles and taxis in the city.
