The collection of locomotive models created by the Italian collector Raoul Cabib with his passion for steam machines and long journeys awaits his enthusiasts at the Rahmi M. Koç Museum.
When the first steam locomotive “Rocket” designed by British mechanical engineer George Stephenson reached 1829 kilometers per hour in 50, the railway age starts from the wagons drawn by horses to the high-speed trains of today.
100 years after the first steam locomotive, Raoul Cabib was born as the son of an antique dealer in Genoa, Italy. Cabib's passion for steam machines turns into a private collection.
Cabib has made various trips since the late 1960s, exploring the world's best steam modelers.
Being able to move a static object is very exciting for such a curious collector.
Raoul Cabib's collection, which he created with great passion for nearly 40 years, was donated to Rahmi M. Koç Museum by his son Andrea Cabib after his eyes closed to life in 2014.

Narrow Line Mountain Railway Locomotive Model:
Locomotive, American Locomotive Co. It was designed by in 1916. Today it is protected and used by Ffestiniog Railways. His model was made by Barry Venables in 1985.
Wood Fuel Locomotive Model:
The locomotive was designed and manufactured in Philadelphia in 1855. His model was made by Bryan Woolston in 1971.
Express Passenger Locomotive Model:
The model was made by Basil Palmer in 1989. He won a gold medal and "Bill Hughes" award.
Class A3 Locomotive Model St Simon:
The locomotive was designed by Sir Nigel Gresley and was produced in 1923 in Doncaster, UK. His model was made by Louis Raper in 1978.
Trial Locomotive Model Decapod:
The locomotive was designed and produced by James Holden in 1902. The model was made by Budva Tucker in 1958.
Express Locomotive Model No: 1:
It was designed by Patrick Stirling and was introduced to the public in 1870. They were the fastest express locomotives in the world when they were in service. His model was made by Bryan Woolston in 1966.
2-4-0 Locomotive Model:
The locomotive was designed by Benjamin Conner in 1865. His model was made by Roy Amsbury in 1980.
Class 5, 2-6-0 Locomotive Model:
It was produced in the UK by Crewe Works in 1934. His model was made by John Adams in 1970.
Pacific Locomotive Britannia:
