Selahattin Gürkan, Mayor of Malatya Metropolitan Municipality, made investigations on the 25-meter zoning road opened as an alternative road route to the ring road.
President Gürkan, who made a statement here after the investigation, said, “We examined the road works of the Alparslan Türkeş Boulevard starting from the Ergenekon bridge on site. We saw the work done on the spot and made examinations. I would like to thank our Metropolitan Municipality Road and Asphalt Department teams.
In this period when Covid - 19 virus affected the world and our country, our units are in an intense effort to prevent the services from being interrupted while fighting the virus as Metropolitan. ”
Mayor Gürkan said, “An alternative road was opened in Malatya, which we have called for many years. This road was paved to a large extent. Work on pavement and lighting, which we now call artistic structures, has been initiated.
These studies will be completed in a short time. For the first time we call it an alternative road, we will connect an alternative road to the main axis via Sivas road.
If this boulevard is opened, it will be connected to the Northern Ring Road on the one hand, to the Northern Belt Road on the one hand, to alternative roads on the other hand, to the hospitals from the right axis on the other, to the Ankara road with Sivas Road and Industry on the left.
We have taken our existing 4 lane road to 3 lanes, 3 departures and 6 arrivals. Along the way, bidirectional parking, connection to the new alternative road, and landscaping works will be opened to the service of all our citizens soon.
When we arrived and in the evaluations we made, we saw that the biggest problem of Malatya is transportation and traffic.
On the other hand, we are considering the connection to the South Belt road with an alternative road in the nearby town. Next year, we started all expropriation procedures regarding the Northern Belt Road this year.
We wish to finish the expropriation of the Northern Belt Road and begin the asphalting of the rate next year.
Within the framework of the protocol we have made with the Highways, we continue our efforts and initiatives to make the Lady Farm Viaduct, which we call the Viaduct of the Northern Belt Road, on the Highways.
