“Green seat application” was started in public transportation in İzmir. From now on, citizens will sit on the seats marked with green color and maintain social distance.
The Coronavirus Circular, published by the Ministry of the Interior, has banned more than 50 percent of its capacity for public transport. According to the decision, “green seat application” was initiated in all public transportation vehicles of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality. Those who get on public transport will sit on the seats marked in green and maintain the social distance with other passengers. The seats next to the passengers will remain empty, while the rear seats can sit on the cross seats.
Safe seating
Metropolitan Municipality, which also prepared informative articles on green seat implementation and measures taken, hung these articles on transfer centers, piers, stations and stops by metro, tramway, ship, train and bus. In the green seat application that prevents sitting side by side and back to back, 'Please avoid close contact. 'Sit on the green dotted seats reserved for you' message is given.
What does the Ministry circular say?
- According to the Ministry of Interior Coronavirus Circular, more than 50 percent of the number of passengers (maximum 7 persons in minibuses) specified in vehicle licenses is prohibited.
- Passengers will not be able to sit side by side, and a seat will be left empty between them. Those sitting in the back row can sit against the front passenger's cross.
- The control of the implementation will be carried out by the Provincial Security Directorate Traffic Branch Directorate and municipal police teams.
