Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) has rolled up its sleeves to minimize the anxiety caused by the epidemic diseases that increase in the winter months and especially the coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) and the COVID-19 disease caused by this virus. Taking precautions in public transportation vehicles where diseases have the most risk of spreading, IMM also subjects the service vehicles that provide transportation service to the personnel in charge of disinfection process at certain periods. With these procedures carried out by the IMM Support Services Directorate, 600 vehicles are cleaned at regular intervals. In the works carried out by professional teams, products that do not harm human health with silver ion technology are used.
MEASURES INCREASED
Epidemics are increasing in the world and in our country with the seasonal conditions brought by the winter months. Cleaning of common areas where viruses carry the most risk of spreading is therefore very important.
IMM has tightened the routine cleaning procedures in public transportation vehicles used by 5 million Istanbuls every day due to the coronavirus epidemic. He started to apply the same disinfection processes to the closed areas within his body. The places of worship, cultural centers and all other activities belonging to IMM are disinfected against the risk of possible epidemics.
HAND DISINFECTANT FOR METROBUS STATIONS
IETT regularly disinfects all buses and disinfectant devices are placed at the entrances of metrobus stations for the hand hygiene of citizens. The application, which was initially started at Halıcıoğlu, Okmeydanı, Darülaceze, Okmeydanı Hospital, Çağlayan, Mecidiyeköy and Zincirlikuyu stations, will soon spread to all 44 stations on the Metrobus line. Thousand-use disinfectant devices will be checked by station staff during the day. The finished solution will be re-completed and continuity in hand hygiene will be maintained.
