The landslide occurred near the Özyürt hamlet of the Tekevler village of the Maden district of Elazig. According to the information obtained, landslides occurred approximately 80 meters after the Kurtalan express that went from Elazig to Diyarbakır with 100 passengers. Due to the landslide, the locomotive of the passenger train has derailed. The wagons of the Kurtalan express allowed a possible disaster to remain on the tracks.
While there were no injuries and deaths in the accident caused by landslides, security forces were dispatched to the region related to the incident.
