The historical train station in Derbent, which is connected to Kartepe district of Kocaeli, was not put into service after it was closed due to the signaling work to be done for the suburban train line. The residents who reacted to this situation gathered in front of the train station on 14 February and took action.
Derbent people will meet once again at the Derbent train station and ask for the train station to be operational. Kocaeli Deputy Haydar Akar will also attend the meeting to be organized by the headman of Derbent Neighborhood, Erdal Baş.
The train, which served 6 times a day between Adapazarı Haydarpaşa and served at 24 train stations, is still only 30 times a day and only serves at 10 train stations.
