The Chamber of Geological Engineers affiliated to the Union of Chambers of Turkish Engineers and Architects (TMMOB) warned that the Ankara - İzmir High Speed ​​Train Project, which is planned to be completed in 2022, has geological risks.

“In the region between the villages of Sivrihisar (Eskişehir) district Sığcık, Göktepe, Kalkimköy and Yeniköy, 2 potholes with diameters of 50 m to 0.5 m and depths of 15 m to 8 m have been formed in the last few years. According to the observations made in the field and later studies on satellite images; The fact that this area, where the pothole was formed, is located only 1.5 km south of the Polatlı Afyon part of the Ankara-İzmir High Speed ​​Train Route, which is under construction, requires urgent measures to be taken.
