Derbent Neighborhood Headman Erdal Baş stated that the historical Derbent Train Station will be closed for the second time between May 2-18 last year due to the suburban train line signaling works. When the train station, which was stated to be opened in December 2019, was not opened, the citizens gathered in front of the train station building on Derbent Ahmet Lütfü Arat Boulevard reacted against the opening of the train station. Stating that the historical Derbent Train Station should be put into service again, Derbent Neighborhood Headman Erdal Baş said, “If this train does not stop here, the high-speed train will not pass here. I tell the TCDD Manager: Stop this train here, you pay the price heavily. ”

We stopped these trains in 2015. In that process, we told the manager that the signaling works should be completed here. They said that in December 2019 the station will be operational. Sorry, we'll have to wait a little longer. We follow, these trains will stop here.
Not only those from Derbent will benefit from these trains, but also our guests who want to come to Derbent. These trains should also stop in Maşukiye and Kırkpınar. These stations are our own assets. 50 thousand passengers can travel daily from this station. On the high-speed train, 6 thousand people travel daily. Trains should be our assets.
