The world's longest electric tram network is in Melborn, Australia. Melborn Tramway Plant, which last year saved serious electricity in the electricity used by feeding the tram's electrical lines with solar energy, is exactly 250 km long. The network, which is served by 493 tram cars, is like a network built in the city of Victoria. The tram, which has a total of 1.763 stations, was opened in 1984.
