The Sakarya 2nd Administrative Court decided to stop the execution of this process on the grounds that the request for zoning was illegally rejected in Sapanca regarding the area where the ropeway project will be built.
Since the master zoning plan of the project area was different in Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality and Sapanca Municipality, the people of Kırkpınar requested the zoning plan of the Metropolitan Municipality as a basis.
Sakarya 2nd Administrative Court decided to stop the execution in order to give the master plan to an institution affiliated to the Municipality. Kırkpınar Environment and Nature Sports Association President Hüsamettin Koçlu stated that a good decision was made by the court. The court threw the ball into the parliament saying that the decision should be made by Sapanca Municipality. If Sapanca Municipal Council changes the zoning plan, construction can continue. A good decision but not enough. After that, it is up to the decision of the Council of Sapanca Municipality ”.
