Railway Workers 24 Hours On Duty Under Severe Winter Conditions

TCDD snow and ice combat teams are working hard to ensure that the railway transportation is not interrupted due to the freezing cold and snowy weather in the Eastern Anatolia Region, and the trains reach the stations smoothly.

The Republic of Turkey State Railways (TCDD) Sarikamish Station Chief in the railway workers are on the Erzurum-Kars railway, 217-kilometer distance by the snow and ice removal in 5 years, passengers are more comfortable to their destination and are intense effort to arrive on time.

Stating that they are working to prevent roads after snowfall, the workers said, “Necessary precautions must be taken for our roads to be open all the time, the trains to travel safely and for our passengers to have a comfortable journey. For this, we are working on the rails in the region where the air temperature drops below 31 degrees below zero, regardless of heavy snowfall and cold weather. ”
