Konya Metropolitan Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay attended the Konya Chamber of Industry (KSO) Assembly Meeting and gave industrialists information about Konya Metro, KONYARAY Suburban line and transportation projects.
Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay, who met with the industrialists at the assembly meeting held under the presidency of KSO Assembly President Tahir Büyükhelvacıgil, said that the Konya Metro project is not only a public transportation project, but will give Konya a European city title. Stating that the project is planned to be completed in 4,5 years, Mayor Altay said, “In the Konya Metro project, we tendered the investment of 1 billion 194 million Euros. It is currently being installed on the job site. The project will take 4,5 years. But we are working together to finish earlier. This is not only a public transportation project in Konya, it is a very important job that will bring Konya the title of a European city. ”
Pointing out that the project will be made using the latest technology, Mayor Altay stated that they are working to open alternative main streets as Metropolitan Municipality.
BANLIYO IS AN IMPORTANT PROJECT AS KONYA METRO
Giving information to the members of the KSO Assembly on the KONYARAY Banliyo line, starting from Yaylapınar and going to Konya OSB, President Altay said, “This project was a project we worked on for a long time. Here, vehicle purchases are carried out by our municipality and the remaining transactions are carried out by TCDD. The project will be carried out in two phases. The first phase starts from the old station and goes to the Logistics Center. We will hold the tender for this year. In the second phase, from the old station to Yaylapınar; It includes a two-stop line from Logistics Center to Aliya Izzetbegovic Street to Konya OSB. When this second phase enters the investment program, we will make its tender as soon as possible. This is as important a project as Konya Metro. This is a line that is not on our transportation axis, but with passenger traffic. Thus, we will have the opportunity of public transportation for all industrial areas on the line ”.
President Altay also gave information to industrialists on issues such as new tram lines, new streets to be opened, other transportation projects and the Old Industry.
