Transport and Infrastructure Minister Cahit Turhan announced that the test drives of the High Speed ​​Train line between Ankara and Sivas will begin in the first quarter of this year.

Turhan pointed out that they ensure that the railways are liberalized and opened to competition, and that it has received the authorization certificates of 3 railway freight train operators and 2 railway passenger train operators.

Emphasizing that they will start test drives in the first quarter of the year in the Yerköy-Yıldızeli section of the 12-kilometer Ankara-Sivas YHT line, which is planned to reduce the 2-hour journey time between Ankara and Sivas to 405 hours.

Turhan announced that they will also launch the first prototype National Electric Train set on TÜVASAŞ this year and start mass production.

Explaining that they plan to realize the Yenikapı-Sefaköy line to be integrated with the Grand Istanbul Tunnel, Turhan said, “We are planning to hold the tender for the Grand Istanbul Tunnel Project, which we will realize with the build-operate-transfer (BOT) model.” he spoke.
