Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality has increased disinfection and sterilization studies against the risk of epidemics in trams and buses, where thousands of passengers are transported every day. In addition to routine cleaning inside and outside of the vehicle, vehicles are cleaned in detail with imported biocidal products approved by the Ministry of Health and United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for protection and control against Covid-19 (corona) virus.

Metropolitan Municipality, which attaches great importance to public health, continues its cleaning activities in public transportation vehicles that serve throughout the city so that citizens can travel in a healthy and clean environment. The Metropolitan Municipality, which carries passengers on nearly 120 thousand trams and 90 thousand buses per day, conducts in-car and external cleaning work on trams and buses on a daily basis. Increasing its precautions against the risk of epidemics that are effective worldwide, Metropolitan Municipality regularly carries out disinfection work within the vehicle with imported biocidal products approved by the Ministry of Health and the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Stating that routine cleaning is carried out in tram and bus stations as well as vehicle cleaning, Metropolitan Municipality officials said, “It is very important for us that our citizens travel in a clean environment in public transportation. In this context, we routinely carry out cleaning work on both our trams and buses. We also disinfect our vehicles with the biocidal products approved by the Ministry of Health and United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), which we have brought from outside the city due to the increasing epidemic diseases in the world with the instructions of our President Yılmaz Büyükerşen. We want our citizens to be sensitive to these diseases when they prefer public transportation. If our passengers close their mouths with disposable wipes during coughing and sneezing and often wash their hands with plenty of soap, we will create a more hygienic environment in public transportation, which is our common use area, ”and stated that they can convey their cleaning problems on vehicles through the municipality's social media accounts.
