Istanbul Card Period Closes in Transportation

With the new application developed by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) affiliate company BELBİM A.Ş., Istanbul residents will be able to get on public transport vehicles via the data matrix system on their smartphones.

With the download, upload, scan, late motto, Istanbul residents will now be able to use their phones in transportation with the QR code application. The application, which will replace plastic cards that are both harmful to the environment and that can easily be forgotten and lost somewhere, will be tried first on the metrobus from March. With the QR code, the payment system will be able to use in other transportation vehicles such as metro, ferry and Marmaray in the future. Citizens will benefit from transportation services wherever they want by phone without carrying a plastic card in their pocket.

BELBİM Electronic Money and Payment Services Inc.
