Transport and Infrastructure Minister Mehmet Cahit Turhan stated that 2023 kilometers more new railway line will be completed in line with the 5.509 targets of our country and thus the length of the railway line will reach 17.525 kilometers. Noting that the nationalization rates on the railways are increasing day by day, Minister Turhan said, “We have started the domestic production of the high-speed train rail at international standards by KARDEMİR AŞ. Until today, we have used 770 thousand tons of rails with domestic facilities and used them in our fast and conventional lines. We have started to work on establishing our facility for producing hardened rails with cork within KARDEMİR AŞ. We are also getting the results of these studies. ”
Transport and Infrastructure Minister Mehmet Cahit Turhan participated in the program with the theme “Barrier-Free Transport, Barrier-Free Tourism, Barrier-Free Life” held in Ankara Train Station yesterday. In his statement, Turhan stated that they have been acting with the fact that the transportation infrastructure has been the most fundamental element that has developed and transformed all living spaces since the day they took office as a government and that they have invested over 17 million lira in transportation and access infrastructure during their 767,5 years in office.
Stating that the railway journey in our country started with the construction of the İzmir-Aydın line in 1856 and the railway mobilization started during the Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk period, Minister Turhan reminded that these moves slowed down after 3 and said, “As a result of this, the railway is available. it could not even protect its system, the share of carriage decreased to 1950 percent in passenger and 2 percent in load, so a road based transportation system emerged. We cannot change the past, but it was in our hands to erase the bad traces of the past and build our future. We handled our railways as one of the most important steps taken to civilization with its environmentally friendly technology and the economic benefits it provides. ”
Underlining that the railways, which were planned to be locked at the door of a period, turned into a state policy in 2003, they set their goals for 2023 and started a process where epic developments occurred on the railways. Turkey has repeatedly implemented projects to move into the future. Turkey and met with the YHT-8 in the world, rose to the position of countries using the 6 YHT technology in Europe. We opened the Ankara-Konya lines in 2011 and the Ankara-Istanbul and Konya-Istanbul lines in 2014. We delivered the comfortable, fast and modern travel service that we started between YHTs and Ankara-Eskişehir in 2009 to 7 percent of the population of 40 provinces and countries. We enabled our citizens to catch the train they missed in the last 60 years with the High Speed Train. Our railroads started to experience their golden years as in the first years of the Republic. Apart from the lines opened for service, we accelerated the work of YHT line between Ankara-Sivas and Ankara-İzmir. With the Çankırı High Speed Train Scissor Factory (VADEMSAŞ) and Sivas Modern Travers factory, we have ensured that all types of trusses and concrete sleepers used in our lines are manufactured with local facilities. Reminding that the priority missions of the citizens of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure are benefiting from all services equally, Minister Turhan stated that the train has changed the macus fortune of Anatolia as it was in the past, and that the train investments will continue in line with 2023 targets and a total of 5.509 thousand new lines will be completed by completing 17 kilometers. He noted that the railway length of 525 kilometers will be reached.
