Izmir Zoning Regulation was adopted unanimously in Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Council.
Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Assembly last night meeting prepared with a participatory understanding of the Draft By-Law adopted unanimously. The draft will be sent to the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization in the coming days for approval.
Work was started in February 2018 to prepare the Izmir Zoning Regulation Draft. In June 2019, the Draft By-Law on Urban Development was approved by the Municipal Assembly and sent to the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization for approval. However, as the relevant articles of the Planned Areas Zoning Regulation were amended by the judicial decision, the Ministry asked in July 2019 the draft to be rearranged according to the latest version of the Planned Areas Zoning Regulation.
Commission prepared
In order to reorganize the draft, the Zoning Regulation Revision Working Commission consisting of representatives of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, 14 district municipalities, professional chambers affiliated to TMMOB, Izmir Chamber of Commerce, Aegean Region Chamber of Industry and Association of Building Inspection Institutions was established. The Commission has held 2019 meetings between September 2019 and December 12 and re-drafted the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Zoning Regulation.
