An answer that would not satisfy the citizens came from the Ministry of Transport about the status of the airport and railway projects that the people of Çorum await with longing and curiosity.
The Ministry of Transport stated that it would be possible to “do if the passenger expectations and traffic forecasts increase” regarding the establishment of the airport in Çorum, and the railway is planned to be included in the investment program after the completion of the project studies in the 2020th quarter of 4.

The tender of the infrastructure facilities of the Çorum Airport consisting of a 2100 x 30 m runway, a 125 x 18 m taxiway and an apron of 80 x 50 m was carried out on 27.11.1996 by the Governorship of Çorum, but the project "STOL Airports Construction" Çorum Airport construction could not be completed due to the decision of the YPK numbered 27.12.2002/2002 and the decision of the Council of Ministers dated 132 and numbered 30.12.2002/2002.
Next year study conducted in Turkey and work in line with the Air Transport General Studies; As it is evaluated that an airport can be built in Çorum in case the passenger expectations and traffic predictions increase, there is no study for airport construction at this stage.
On the other hand, between Samsun-Amasya-Çorum-Kırıkkale (292 km), it is planned to construct a double line, electric and signaled high speed railway line, suitable for 200 km speed, in Samsun - Merzifon, Merzifon-Çorum, Çorum-Delice.
In Çorum-Kırıkkale (Delice) (100 km) section, survey and project studies have been completed. Surveys and projects are ongoing in Samsun-Merzifon (99 km) and Merzifon-Çorum (93 km) sections and it is aimed to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2020. Following the completion of the project work, it is planned to propose to be included in the investment program for the construction. ”
