The alternative road work initiated by Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality in the Gar District will greatly ease the traffic of Bahçelievler Mahallesi, Gündoğan Mahallesi and Vasıf Çınar Caddesi. Historical buildings in the train station will be restored according to the needs of the city, such as a library and an art gallery, and will be opened to the public.
Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality continues to implement transportation projects in Balıkesir in order to provide safe and comfortable transportation. With the instruction of Metropolitan Mayor Yücel Yılmaz, road expansion and roundabout works were initiated in order to ease the traffic in many points in the city. Traffic intensity and waiting times in traffic have been reduced by easing the strip expansion in Vasıfçınar Street recently. Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality started a double-rounded road work with a 800-meter-wide double-round road on the 20-meter area, just behind the State Railways connecting Cengiz Topel Avenue and Mustafa Tekmeci Square in Gümüşçeşme District.
ALTERNATIVE WAY
With the alternative road work carried out by the Department of Science Affairs, drivers going from Bahçelievler Mahallesi to the State Hospital and Paşaalani Mahallesi will now provide transportation more easily and quickly. Thanks to the new road, the traffic concentrated on Vasıf Çınar Street will decrease further.
HISTORICAL BUILDINGS WILL BE OPENED
Pedestrian sidewalks will be built on both sides of the road, as well as bicycle lanes that comply with international standards on one side. Three historical buildings in this area will be restored and the library, art gallery will be opened for public use according to the needs of the city. Again, this area will create a parking area of approximately one thousand vehicles. Social reinforcement areas will be constructed around the buildings that are being restored and will be opened to the public.
