After the transfer of the Gebze-Darıca Metro Project to the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, the points reached in the project were discussed together. Metropolitan Municipality Secretary General Balamir Gündoğdu, Deputy Secretary General Mustafa Altay and ministry officials attended the meeting where information sharing was realized. During the meeting, all the details of the Metro project, which is under construction rapidly, were discussed.

Despite the transfer of the Metro Project to the Ministry, which has a cost of approximately 5 billion TL, the project was followed closely by the General Manager of Infrastructure Investments. Yalçın Eyigün Mayor Büyükakın, who received information about the latest point in the works, said, “We are restructuring the transportation network in Kocaeli and we are working hard to increase the share of rail systems. We are working closely with our ministry to increase the share of rail system in transportation. As the share of rail systems in transportation increases, our people will have reached a safer and more comfortable transportation ”.
