The Republic of Turkey State Railways (TCDD) has responded to the allegations in a statement on its web site customized. With the enactment of the railway liberalization law numbered 6461, 2 private sector train operators other than TCDD also started their freight transportation activities by obtaining their freight transportation authorization. Authorization procedures for private sector train operations continue for passenger transportation.
On the lines where it is not possible to carry out commercial transportation by rail, the transportation is carried out by contract as “Public Service Obligation”.
