Speaking at the opening ceremony of the President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan 'Smart Cities and Municipalities Congress and Exhibition, Bursa Mayor Alinur Aktaş gave information about the smart urbanism investments they have realized in Bursa.

In our two-year project, we will prepare a common vision and roadmap by creating a holistic strategy that responds to stakeholder needs and evaluates international practices. Within the scope of the project, we will examine our city in 6 functional areas as Transport, Environment, Life, Governance, Economy and Human as envisaged by the European Commission. We will act within the framework of Ulusal National Smart Cities Strategy and Action Plan açıklan announced by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization. Having a national strategy prepared by our Ministry will be our greatest strength in this process. ”

Intelligent urbanism is a must

Bursa has 21 Organized Industrial Zones, 47-year population has increased 10 times and reached 3 million, indicating that the industry is one of the fastest growing cities with Aktas, migration from rural to the city continues to emphasize that the advantages and disadvantages. President Aktaş reminded that they remember the smart city strategy with the funds they received from the development agency, and they received 3.2 million pounds of grants from the UK Funds and gave optimization of rail system signaling as an example of one of the smart investments. He said that when the ongoing works are completed, the waiting time of the current system will be reduced to 3.75 minutes from 2 minutes and thus they can carry more passengers.
