WATCH BY POLLUTION
In 2006, the decision on the determination and administrative sanction of pollution caused by ships and other sea vehicles in Izmit Bay was given to the Directorate of Environmental Protection and Control. For this purpose, the rented control ship is closely following the sea pollution caused by ships and other sea vehicles in the Gulf of Izmit.
CONTROL BY AIR BY SEA
In order to keep Izmit Bay clean, the Metropolitan Municipality conducts sea pollution inspections arising from ships and vessels by sea control aircraft. Within the scope of the ongoing works since 2007, the sea control aircraft became the nightmare of the ships polluting the Gulf of Izmit.
13 SHINE CRIME
In 2019, 351 inspections were carried out by the teams of the Department of Environmental Protection and Control. 13 thousand 13 thousand 3 TL was fined to 566 ships which were found to pollute the Gulf of Izmit in these inspections. 4 ships polluting the sea were detected during the inspection of the seaplane.
1172 INTERVENTION
Environmental Protection and Control Department teams continued their general environmental pollution controls throughout the year. The teams performed 618 inspections. Bin 172 incidents were observed during these inspections were intervened. 142 events were forwarded to the Provincial Directorate of Environment and Urbanization.
AIR POLLUTION CONTROLS
Environmental teams supervised 2019 workplaces in 174 against air pollution caused by heating. During the inspection of these establishments, 7 establishments causing air pollution were identified. 7 workplaces were fined.
NOISE POLLUTION CONTROLS
As a result of exposure to environmental noise, the Metropolitan Municipality takes the necessary measures in order not to deteriorate the peace and quiet of the people and physical and mental health. Environmental teams continued their inspections throughout the city. The teams carried out 660 inspections against noise pollution. In these inspections, which caused noise pollution, 3 workplaces were fined 36 thousand 75 TL.
