TCDD Chairman of the Board and General Manager Ali İhsan Uygun, assistant general manager and the accompanying delegation made observations on the Ankara Sivas High Speed Train line. About Ankara Sivas High Speed Train Project
Ankara-Sivas high-speed train line, the railway is being built in Turkey between Ankara and Sivas city. High Speed Train services will be organized by TCDD, which will be double track, electric and signal. The line will then be extended to Kars and connected to Baku Tbilisi Kars Railway.
The construction of the 442 km long Yerköy Sivas phase of the Ankara Yozgat Sivas line, with a total length of 293 km, started in February 2009, the physical infrastructure work was completed by 80% and the 144 km long section was accepted on 9 February 2015. The minimum speed on the 174-km Ankara-Yerköy line is planned to be 250 km per hour. Ankara Yozgat Sivas high speed train project will reduce the transportation on the specified routes from 12 hours to 2 hours 51 minutes. It was announced that the line will be opened before May 2020.
