Sapanca Municipality made an agreement for the cable car to be established between the contractor company and Kırkpınar and Mahmudiye Hill. Those who opposed the cable car, which was planned to be built in the park and earthquake gathering area by cutting three thousand trees in the region, started the action. The project, which will be built by Bursa Teleferik A.Ş with a build-operate-transfer model, valid for 25 years, will cost approximately 80 million liras.
The area chosen in Kırkpınar for the cable car project is the Emergency Disaster Gathering Area, but also includes a playground and recreation area used by the locals. In addition, it is a land donated to the state in the past, provided that it was not used by the people of the region for any other purpose.
