Stating that the airports are ready for the winter, Turhan emphasized that the preparations at the airports continue at full speed, “304 special purpose vehicles will be used within the scope of snow-fighting services at the airports. In addition, approximately 700 personnel, trained and experienced in snow fighting services, will work. Minister Turhan said that at Istanbul Airport, 26-wheel-drive combined snow fight, 15 compact-type combined snow-fight, 8 snowblower (rotary), 28 snow-plow and "de-icing" liquid spreader will serve here. Expressing that the fight against snow was carried out at Atatürk Airport with 19 special purpose vehicles and approximately 100 State Airports Authority (DHMİ) personnel, Turhan said that 205 tons of “de-icing” liquid material was kept ready.
