Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) President Ekrem İmamoğlu, Kabataş-Mahmutbey Metro Line participated in the tunnel completion ceremony. İmamoğlu was accompanied by Beşiktaş Mayor Rıza Akpolat and İBB senior management. During the ceremony held at the Fulya Stop, while the İmamoğlu was speaking, the excavation machine called TBM (Tunnel Boring Machine) used for digging the tunnel was removed simultaneously from underground. Emphasizing that the line is very valuable, İmamoğlu said, “This place has been operated with an accurate business plan and finance plan from the beginning and reported to us in the form of a sample metro line. The harmonious work of contractors here with my friends speeds up the process even more. Kabataş - We met to witness the last moment of TBM working between Fulya. The value that technology adds to difficult cities like us is very very valuable. ”

Stating that the line consists of 2 parts, İmamoğlu said,Kabataş-We have Beşiktaş-Mecidiyeköy line. We also have a Mecidiyeköy-Mahmutbey line. This line has the capacity to serve 70 thousand people in one direction per hour. This line will provide great benefit in public transportation. But KabataşUnfortunately, a little more time is needed on the Beşiktaş-Mecidiyeköy line. Our Mecidiyeköy-Mahmutbey line is a line that we will open to service in the first quarter of next year. But we can show it as the second part Kabataş - Beşiktaş - Mecidiyeköy line takes a little more time, especially because of the historical findings encountered during the excavations here. ”
TOTAL 19 STATION WILL
Kabataş-The total length of the Mahmutbey line is 24,5 kilometers. The line consisting of 19 stations will have a capacity of 70 thousand passengers in one direction. The line that will pass through the districts of Beyoğlu, Beşiktaş, Şişli, Kağıthane, Eyüpsultan, Gaziosmanpaşa, Esenler and Bağcılar; Kabataş In Station Kabataş- With Taksim Funicular Line Kabataş-Bağcılar Tram Line will be integrated. Integration will be provided from the Yenikapı-Mecidiyeköy Line. Habibler-Edirnekapı-Topkapı Line from Karadeniz Station is one of the integration points. The last integration will be from the Mahmutbey Station with the Bus Station-Bağcılar-Kirazlı-Başakşehir-Olympic Metro Line.
