Emphasizing that the public is the owner of every service rendered to the city, İmamoğlu said, “Istanbul's power and potential is different. The world stops, Istanbul does not. Istanbul is the center of the world. This is not about today; It was so thousands of years ago, it is so today and it will be so tomorrow. We should act accordingly, and support each other accordingly. Accordingly, we must act collectively. The hearts of our 16 million people must beat for Istanbul.”

The construction works of the Çekmeköy-Sancaktepe-Sultanbeyli Metro Line, whose construction has been stopped for 2 years and only 6 percent of its physical production has been carried out, have resumed. The TBM (Tunnel Boring Machine) machine, which is described as the "underground monster", is the Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM). Ekrem İmamoğluWith the ceremony attended by Sancaktepe Station, it was lowered to the construction site. CHP Istanbul deputy Gökhan Zeybek and Sancaktepe Mayor Şeyma Döğücü also attended the ceremony. The trio inspected the construction site before the ceremony. In his speech at the ceremony, İmamoğlu thanked everyone who contributed to the construction of the line.

“ISTANBUL IS NOT A SINGLE ISSUE”

Stating that public transportation is one of the most important subjects of Istanbul, İmamoğlu said, “Our city has many subjects. I wish we could make the 'most important' definition of a single issue. But not like that. There is another point that stands at a different point, which we all have to deal with, such as earthquakes, which we all regard as vital issues. Or socially, we should never forget, the most important issues in our country and our city, the refugee issue, there is the issue of refugees. 'There is only one important issue, don't say focus on it'. Emamoğlu emphasized that they produce various solutions in public transportation and said, “Metro is our first line business. The issue of raising the metro to the highest level in Istanbul is a national issue. We need to bring hundreds of kilometers of metro into this city. On the first day of its commencement, from Mr. Sözen, I would like to thank every metropolitan mayor who contributed individually. We have a claim: 'To do more'. The claim that comes after us must be able to do more. We said to him, 'Everything will be very beautiful'. His philosophy is very clear: When you wake up every morning, say, 'Everything will be very good'. Which, take a step forward in doing better. 'When you say everything has been very good, life is over,' he said.

“NOW DAY, SERVICE DAY”

Imamoglu said that when they took office, the total 8 metro line was stopped and that they had restarted a second line after the Ümraniye-Göztepe Metro Line. Imamoglu said, “Today, we are making the beginning of another line. This line is an important line. I mentioned the importance of this line in our speeches in the region. No more days, service days. My friends put forward an intensive study on the issue of financing related to the implementation of this line. 2 has started the process with the participation of our brave companies who are the manufacturers of this line together with the financial resources that are related to the mobilization of this construction site which has been standing for years. I hope this process will end quickly. The economy does not experience an easy process both in our country and in the world. Financing is now much worse than 2 years ago. It is also important that the Deutsche Bank, Germany, trusts and contributes to this process. Thank you for the cooperation leri.

“THE POWER AND POTENTIAL OF ISTANBUL IS OTHER”

Am Istanbul's power and potential is different, İm said İmamoğlu, “The world stops and Istanbul does not. Istanbul is the center of the world. This is not about today; thousands of years ago, so will today and so will tomorrow. We must act accordingly and support each other accordingly.

So we have to move all the way. The heart of our 16 million people must strike for Istanbul. We need to make the right decisions. We need to cooperate in making the right decisions. This work; central government, Istanbul Municipality, district municipality does not have such a thing. None of this is in the way. Everyone needs to act with a character who helps in front of such works and manages to become arm in arm. We're ready for that. Whoever pulls his arm, we will struggle to catch his arm. In other words, we regard ourselves as the most courageous institution in terms of cooperation. Regardless of which person, institution and political authority we are looking at it. In this respect, this is the equivalent of tolerance, tolerance, sense of unification and business accomplishment. At this point, the signatures have been signed and we celebrate today with the cooperation of IMM, contractors, Ankara and financial institutions. Everybody will applaud, it's that simple. ”

“THE OWNER IS THE PUBLIC“

Emphasizing that the owner of a service was not the mayor of that period or the political party in power at that time, İmamoğlu said, “The owner of a service; it is the state, the public, the nation. In other words, you are just the tool that made that process a success that day. I am intermediary. Today I am the agent, tomorrow someone else. Let's be proud of our achievements, but never say 'We have it'. Not for us. For him, every project belongs neither to a party nor to a person in the office. As people who have the obligation to manage that process well, we have fulfilled our duty. And we will connect our people with this modern means of transport, it's that simple. Nobody will hear from our mouths: 'The project of our party, my project, I did it.' No such thing. 'We did it, we did it nationally. We will accelerate not only the metro, but also our public transportation mistakes that support the metro, and the bus renewal process of the metrobus. In particular, we will shorten the IETT lines, not longer, make them express, and make our other public transportation lines supportive. At the same time, we will focus on sea transportation and make the points that connect other public transportation vehicles more effective. In other words, we will create a fully integrated system in Istanbul. Public transportation is a matter of tension, you don't have the chance to say 'we completely solved it'; but we want to create an Istanbul that is as modern as possible, where the society is not disturbed, but enjoys daily travel and where he spends most of his life in his work, power and social life, not in public transport ”. Sharing technical information about the line, İmamoğlu pressed the button with the accompanying delegation after his speech and the TBM machine was brought down to the construction site with a ceremony.
