Istanbul failed to enter the first 5 in Public Transportation Performance Ranking; In the study titled “Metropolitan Transport Performance League”, Eskişehir ranked first, Konya ranked second and Erzurum ranked third in terms of the most comfortable cities in terms of public transport in the 10 service criterion.

Metropolitan Transportation Performance League and Turkey are "entitled to the scope of research participants; 10 service criteria in public transportation such as information, comfort, environmental factors, accessibility, safety, personnel, wages, suitability, timing and feedback were asked. Approximately 1 thousand people in 30 provinces were surveyed in the list where the cities with the best transportation were ranked from 30 to 11. The research conducted by Areda Survey was shared with the public under the title of 'Metropolitan Public Transport Performance League Research'.

In almost all metropolitan areas, rail systems are receiving huge investments. Despite the investment in metro and train, the majority of people using public transport stated that they use buses. Citizens participating in the survey, expressed that most preferred the city bus. In the second place the private public bus took the third place and the subway took place.
