Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality has renewed the Gömeç Dursunlu Bridge, which is dangerous to use with a width of 3 meters. The reconstructed bridge started to serve as a double lane of 11 meters wide and 30 meters long.
Balıkesir Metropolitan Mayor Yücel Yılmaz started to meet the urgent needs of the districts after the strategy meetings he held with district municipalities. Mayor Yılmaz gave instructions to speed up the construction works of the bridge, the tender process of which was initiated previously for the construction of the Gömeç Dursunlu bridge upon the district strategy reports and the request of the citizens. Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality, Department of Science Affairs initiated a renovation work on Gömeç Dursunlu Bridge, which is narrow and dangerous to use. The 3-meter Dursunlu Bridge, which connects many rural neighborhoods in the Gömeç region, was demolished and reconstructed when it could not meet the needs of the region. The main skeleton of the bridge, which was rebuilt as a double lane of 11 meters wide and 30 meters long, was completed and asphalt work was done. The bridge was opened to traffic as a double lane at the weekend.
