Stating that the 3rd parallel runway, the construction of which is coming to an end, is planned to be put into service next summer at Istanbul Airport, Turhan said, “We have started work to implement the 'simultaneous landing' application, which is not implemented in any country except the USA, at Istanbul Airport.” he spoke.

The necessary airspace design studies for providing effective air traffic flow with maximum capacity and without shortening taxi times without compromising the flight safety principle have been performed by the staff of our General Directorate of State Airports Authority (DHMI) using national facilities. ”
