According to reports in the African press, during the Russia-Africa Economic Forum held in Sochi, between the RZD officials and the Minister of Transport and Communications Didier Mazengu Mukanzu, the repair and expansion of the railway network in the KDC, according to a statement from the Russian Railways Company's (RZD) website. It was stated that a goodwill agreement was signed on it.
In the statement, it was stated that the project included the modernization, construction and logistics of railways in the KDC and amounted to $ 500 million.
In a message he shared on his social media account, KDC President Felix Tshisekedi stated that a delegation from Russia will come to the capital, Kinshasa, on 10 November.
According to the Russian media, Niger reached $ 2,5 billion in oil and transportation agreements with Guinea and the Russian businessman Konstantin Malofeyev, sanctioned by the KDC, the US and the European Union.
On the other hand, the Moscow administration plans to sell $ 4 billion worth of weapons to Africa this year.
