Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Mehmet Cahit Turhan, Mardin Governor Mustafa Yaman, TCDD General Manager Ali İhsan Uygun and General Manager of Highways Abdulkadir Uraloğlu visited Mazıdağı Metal Recovery and Integrated Fertilizer Facilities.
1,2 billion dollars investment and thousand 500 people are employed in the facilities stressed that the opportunity to examine Turhan, as well as phosphate here in different parts of the country's waste materials in the factory will be processed by processing the economy, he said.
Minister Turhan also gave information about the railway that will allow the transportation of the products to be processed to the plant and mentioned the contribution of fertilizer production in the plant to the national economy and said:
Yüzde 50 percent of the manure that we export and import from abroad will be produced in this facility. The value of this is about 360 million dollars. Again, important metals such as copper, cobalt, silver and iron in some of the waste material in other mining facilities will be supplied to the industry; which is worth about $ 270 million annually. We also buy these metals from abroad. In summary, this facility brings our country an imported goods and products of over 600 million dollars per year. On the other hand, it makes all kinds of goods that will cause harm to the environment as waste by processing them here. It's a place that provides foreign currency input. ”
After the visit, TCDD General Manager Ali İhsan Uygun said in his social media account: “We received presentations about the interconnection line that continues with the integrated facility and which will add 1.4 million tons of freight to the railway once it is finished. 1.2 I would like to congratulate the investor company that put an end to 600 million dollar fertilizer and metal import by adding this facility that will make significant contributions to our country's economy with an additional investment of billions of dollars. ”
