WHAT IS THE EURASIA ROAD?

The 5 of the Civil Society Dialogue Program, funded by the European Union, the Contracting Authority is the Central Finance and Contracts Unit and carried out by the EU Presidency of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey. One of the projects entitled to receive a grant within the scope of this period was the Yürüyüş Walking on the Eurasian Road proj project. The Applicant Cultural Routes Association (KRD) will carry out this project in partnership with the European Association of Via Francigena (EAVF) in Italy and the Association for the Trace of the Environment in Greece (TYE). Via Egnatia Foundation (Netherlands), Sultans Road Foundation (Netherlands), Bursa Nilüfer Municipality, Izmit Municipality, Edirne Municipality and Puglia Regional Municipality in Italy are among the participating institutions involved in the project. In the project, which started in April 2019 and will continue for one year, the joint institutions will apply for the registration of the Council of Europe Cultural Routes Institute, a new hiking route known as the Eurasian Road and extending from Bari, Italy to Demre district of Antalya. This institute in Luxemburg is a body of the Council of Europe authorized to register themed long-distance walking and other cultural routes as the 'European Cultural Route'. If the certification process occurs, the Eurasian path length in excess of about 5000 km of Turkey's first registered, and Europe's culture will be the most long-haul international routes.
